Rescue Furniture

Our friend Carol introduced us to rescue work and the philosophy
behind it when she adopted a rescue greyhound about 10 years ago.
The idea of making a good home for an unwanted animal suggested a parallel
in our minds. Fred already used discarded drawers in his studio, (SEE ASSEMBLAGES)
but he began to look around for functional furniture pieces no longer
wanted by their owners. We call these RESCUE TABLES.
Our first was rescued at Asheville's Habitat for Humanity store and
now has new life in our home as a coffee table. Next, Fred began playing with
colors. The rescue tables seen in the photos below are the result.
